Posted on March 15, 2019 by A. Rinum in Poetry

Why you and why not me?Why? Because you have Eden flowing from the tips of your fingers and I have nothing but despair. You have the stars lightening your wayin a galaxy breeding with night and I have nothing but darkness. Honestly, no one is going to come and heal you. Some people don't even know what you're going through. Why wait for someone to come put a salve on your wound when you can do it yourself. If the body can physically heal itself then it can heal itself mentally too. No one has a perfect life. We're all hit by trauma at some point. We're all a little messed up in the head. No one really is ready for anything, and if someone tells you they know what they're doing then they're lying to you. We don't come out of the womb knowing what to do. We learn it through pain and joy.
Look that person did that at this age. He makes this much money. Damn she's amazing for being that way. He's a doctor. She's an actor. He's living his dream. She's making money off of what she loves. I wish I was her. If only I had what he has.
That's something my husband tells me all the time. It's his mantra. I'm very negative at times and he's always positive. Maybe that's why we fit perfectly like puzzle pieces. His words fill me with hope. He doesn't know this but I look up to him. I doubt he'll read this (and that's why I'm saying this) but sometimes I push myself because of him. He knows how to deal with me when I'm acting all up and he's always calm. So next time you're going through tough times remember that this pain is teaching you how to be strong. Its teaching you the value of the beauty in joy.
